Assaults rise against NHS staff: Last year saw a 6% rise in the number of reported assaults on NHS staff in 341 trusts in England, from 59 744 in 2011-12 to 63 199 in 2012-13, NHS Protect has reported. The number of criminal sanctions arising from reported assaults rose by 201 (16%), from 1257 to 1458.1
