Global Fund needs $15bn to fight HIV, tuberculosis, and malaria

The Global Fund to Fight Aids, Tuberculosis, and Malaria is asking international donors for $15bn (£9.5bn; €11.3bn) as an “absolute minimum” to fight the diseases over the next three years.
Mark Dybul, executive director of the Global Fund, told a telephone press conference that the scientific advances and increased investment of the past 10 years presented the world with a unique window of opportunity.
“We can now see the ability to completely control HIV, TB, and malaria while strengthening health systems and end them as public health threats. That’s an extraordinary historic moment,” he said.
