European MPs back moves for generic drugs to be made available more quickly

The European parliament has overwhelmingly backed moves to give patients faster access to generic drugs, saving money for them and for social security systems.
Under the proposal, adopted by 559 votes to 54 with 72 abstentions on 6 February, members of the parliament backed a 60 day deadline for decisions on the pricing and reimbursement of generic drugs. The current 180 day time limit would …
