The evolution of Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders reflects a devolution of psychiatry, in which psychiatry has been so co-opted by Big Pharma that psychiatric patients are reflexively treated with dubious if not dangerous psychotropics, with no insightful, sympathetic counseling, which is what most patients really want and need in the first place.
