Graham Lancelot Hill

Graham Lancelot Hill was born in Dunedin, New Zealand. He was married to Bartha and together they had three sons—Andrew, Philip, and Douglas, who are all doctors practising in New Zealand (Andrew is a professor of surgery at the University of Auckland). Graham Lancelot Hill’s first surgical position was a missionary surgeon in Bandung, Indonesia. This was followed by a senior lectureship at Leeds University under J C Goligher, time as an attending surgeon in Houston with Stanley Dudrick, and a long tenure as professor and head of surgery at the University of Auckland.
