It is government policy and a call from the general public that more doctors diagnose sickness to treat their dis-ease or disease in pursuit of health. Thus the only logical and ethical solution for doctors is to persuade patients to seek health while doctors learn salutogenesis and apply the knowledge to patients through selling "health (salutogenesis)" rather than just sickness to patients.
I have been compiling my health data base about the present bio-medical system causing harm to those who are physically healthy but actually not psychologically healthy enough. I am running a medical practice to change and upgrade the mindset of patients.
While specialists are legally obliged to upgrade patients' knowledge and implant in their mind the road to disease and death, GPs should teach patients the mental road to health. If not, at any physical signal from within, the only thing for patients to do is to walk down the road to disease and gradual death.
This is emotional brain training and has been tested in US university (rewiring the stress response, http://www.hypothesisjournal.com/?p=955 ) by psychologists. GPs are different from psychologists as we are more suitable to rewiring the stress response arising from new medical information which is inherently partial and biased, as long as we accept the truth of bio-psychosocial model of disease. Of course we must train ourself not to feel hurry sickness before we can calm others.
If we do not rewire patients' disease mindset by selling health to them, they will still be negatively driven by disease emotion (dis-ease) to seek homeopathy....etc. Telling someone not to do something such as not selling disease is eventually useless if there is no alternative pathway available. i.e. we have to extend doctors' duty into psychology, religious area... Ultimately the merging of disease profession and health profession is the only way to stop doctors being restricted to selling disease, or unless the number of doctors falls so that there is no more push to disease mongering.
