Breast density on mammography can help assess response to tamoxifen and predict survival, finds study

Mammograms can be used to show whether a woman who has had breast cancer is responding to treatment with tamoxifen by measuring the density of breast tissue, a study has found.
Researchers at the Karolinska Institute in Sweden tested the hypothesis that a reduction in breast density after treatment with tamoxifen signalled a response and would result in improved survival from breast cancer.
