Dear Dr Black
I am very pleased you cited the ongoing problems in Sexual Health nationally in this week’s BMJ which is worsening with the increasing tendering & procurements of NHS Contracts at the expense of profits.
This will lead to problems with staff retention as well as future recruitment as the specialty becomes more ‘dumbed down’. Future undergraduate and postgraduate students will not be attracted to the specialty if private providers do not offer suitable training schemes as the NHS currently does.
Well done in highlighting this in our very underrated, Cinderella discipline which is in desperate need of a positive spin!
Best wishes
Dush
