It is encouraging to see that the dangers mentally ill patients are subject to are discussed more and are supported by hard evidence. While the article started positively we were quite disappointed that it ended with ... more risk assessment. We do not think the answer to managing risks to mentally ill patients lies solely in mental heath services. It needs the political will, and policies and laws encouraging, and if needed, enforcing social inclusion, employment and reducing stigma. Focus on risk assessment is a narrow approach which will does not address the core issues mentioned above.
