A whistleblowing paediatric surgeon has given up his High Court battle to try to save his job and has resigned with immediate effect four days into an expected five day hearing.
Edwin Jesudason won an injunction last July stopping Alder Hey Children’s Hospital NHS Foundation Trust holding a meeting at which he would have been dismissed. Backed by the BMA, he sought a ruling this month at the High Court in Manchester that the trust could not sack him without first going through the usual NHS conduct or capability …
