A third of cases of chronic kidney disease are undiagnosed, report warns: Latest figures for England show that 40 000 to 45 000 people die prematurely because of chronic kidney disease each year. More than 1.8 million people have chronic kidney disease, but around one million cases are undetected, says a report from NHS Kidney Care, which is calling for efforts to improve earlier diagnosis.1
