Peter Graeme Arblaster trained at University College Hospital, London. He married Dorothy (“Dorsey”) Vaughan Watkins, a ward sister, in May 1944 and one month later joined the navy as a surgeon lieutenant of the Royal Naval Volunteer Reserve (RNVR) on the HMS Urchin. He left the ship in 1946, having been deployed to the Far East.

Peter returned to UCH in 1947 to become a registrar, completing his senior registrar post at Central Middlesex Hospital. In !951 he moved to Warwickshire to become a consultant …
