Re: Venous thrombosis in users of non-oral hormonal contraception: follow-up study, Denmark 2001-10

Thank you so much to Jane Skov et al for their kind response to our paper on non-oral hormonal contraceptives and venous thrombosis.

Jane Skov is correct in pointing out a typographical error in the overall incidence rate of venous thrombosis, which should have been reported as 5.6 per 10,000 women years. We certainly should have caught that typographical error during the paper processing. We will publish a notice about this correction as soon as possible.

I believe I have already addressed the remaining comments, including the “biological plausibility” and the “clear and concise arguments” of Anne Szarewski.

Competing interests: The author has within the last three years received honoraria for speeches in pharmacoepidemiological issues, including fees from Bayer Pharma Denmark, MSD Denmark, and Theramex, Monaco, and has been expert witness for plaintiff in a legal US case in 2011.
