Re: White rice consumption and risk of type 2 diabetes: meta-analysis and systematic review

I am absolutely amazed that it has taken more than fourteen years to discover (?) the relationship between refined carbohydrates (white rice) and the Insulin/Glucagon response.

In fact the following is a guide:
40 foods from The Wonderful World Within You, by Dr. Roger J. Williams (1998).
NutriCircles® were developed at the University of Texas, Austin by Donald R. Davis in collaboration with Roger J. Williams for his book, The Wonderful World Within You (1977, 2004). They show the nutritional quality of foods in a diagram that is far easier to grasp than a long list of numbers.

Further, the first textbook on Applied Nutrition was written and Published in 1947 by Harold F Hawkins D.D.S.Associate Professor of Bacteriology and Preventive Dentistry, College of Dentistry, University of California, and he detailed the problems associated with refined carbohydrates as have innumerable other authors most of them dentists. Believe me practising over thirty years with a patient list in excess of 37,000 and at age eighty on years and still working fifty hours per week, this is barely the tip of the ice berg.
