The children’s heart surgery unit at one of the UK’s leading hospitals is set for closure in “an act of bureaucratic vandalism,” the high court in London has been told.
The accusation by Alan Maclean QC, counsel for the Royal Brompton and Harefield NHS Foundation Trust, came as the trust opened its legal challenge to a decision to recommend shutting the unit at the Royal Brompton in London.
