Are gimmicky glasses really the answer in low income countries?

The need for refractive services, especially in rural areas of poor countries, is great and is one of the targets of the World Health Organization’s Vision 20/20 programme. Although these adjustable spectacles seem to meet this need, they have two obvious defects.1 2
