Medical groups press Bahrain over detention of doctors

Medical and human rights organisations are trying to increase pressure on Bahrain to release doctors detained for alleged actions against the state during protests that broke out in February.
Frank Boulton, chairman of the global health charity Medact, personally delivered a letter to Bahrain’s ambassador in London on Monday 4 July calling on the government to release the doctors who have reportedly been tortured. Two previous letters expressing similar concerns have gone unanswered.
