Tough new anti-corruption legislation for the UK, which will put doctors who accept excessive consultancy fees and lavish hospitality from drug companies at risk of prosecution, has been delayed.

The Bribery Act, which became law in the last days of the previous Labour government, was on course to come into effect in April. But the coalition Conservative/Liberal Democrat government is reviewing the act after representations by business leaders that it could harm the UK’s competitiveness. …
