Gøtzsche and Jørgensen’s comprehensive account of their efforts to obtain clinical trial data from the European Medicines Agency (EMA) highlights the problems researchers still face in healthcare evaluation.1 In its response, the EMA refers to the steps it has undertaken to improve transparency, including the long awaited launch of the EU Clinical Trials Register (EU-CTR).2
