Frank Lappin

Dr Frank Lappin, who was a consultant psychiatrist at Lister and Fairfield Hospitals from 1975 until 1992, died suddenly on 11 December 2010. As his cousin put it, “Most people have family and friends who are intelligent, funny, generous, or kind, but it is rare to find someone who has all these qualities. Frank had them all, and more.”

Frank was born on 9 March 1927 in Campbelltown, Australia. He graduated from the University of Sydney in 1950, moving to London after becoming a member of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatry in 1965. He continued training at Halliwick Hospital and the Royal Free, where he was involved with a long running follow-up of lithium treatment.
