Fertility doctors are urged to treat foreign patients equitably

The growing number of patients travelling abroad for fertility treatment has prompted new guidelines on cross border care.

The European Society of Human Reproduction and Embryology guidelines say that the care of foreign and local patients should be the same and should be to the best possible standards, but “there is evidence that this is not always the case” (Human Reproduction doi:10.1093/humrep/der090).
