UK urges rest of Europe to also ban export of “execution drugs”

The UK government has banned the export of three more drugs used for lethal injections in the United States and has called on the European Commission to do the same for the whole of the European Union.
The decision to place export controls on pancuronium bromide, potassium chloride, and pentobarbital sodium follows an emergency export control put on thiopental sodium last year (BMJ 2010;341:c6915, 30 Nov, doi:10.1136/bmj.c6915). …
