Two errors occurred in this News story by Jane Feinmann (BMJ 2011;342:d876, doi:10.1136/bmj.d876). Firstly, in both the print version and the full online version we misspelt Alastair Scotland’s first name. Secondly, the third sentence of the fifth paragraph of the online version should have more accurately reflected the assessment processes and have read: “But the vast majority of the 279 clinicians who have had a behavioural assessment as part of the National Clinical Assessment Service’s performance assessment were ‘emotionally stable, sociable, highly agreeable, and conscientious,’ said Jenny King, a behavioural assessor for the NCAS, a chartered psychologist, and a partner in the international business psychology consultancy the Edgecumbe Group.”
