The prospect of NHS patients managing their own healthcare records on a private online system moved closer last week with the announcement of a deal between the software giant Microsoft and an NHS acute trust. Milton Keynes Hospital NHS Foundation Trust is to become the first UK user of a Microsoft product for combining health data produced by disparate IT systems.
