In the first column of figure 4 in the full length (online) version of this paper by Gail Hayward and colleagues (BMJ 2009;339:b2976, doi:10.1136/bmj.b2976) we transposed the terms “Bacterial-pathogen-positive” and “Bacterial-pathogen-negative.” Therefore in the subgroup analysis for sore throat with or without bacterial pathogens, the upper row shows results for pathogen negative sore throats while the lower row is for pathogen positive throats
