David Howard Casson (“Dave”) was born in Didsbury in Manchester, son of a general practitioner. He attended Manchester Grammar School and St Edmund Hall, Oxford, before postgraduate studies at St Bartholomew’s Hospital, London. Dave travelled widely from London to Bournemouth, Bath, and more, including Pakistan and Australia, and was appointed consultant paediatric gastroenterologist at Alder Hey in 2000.
