Patient groups say they should be involved in all EU funded health projects

    Patients’ organisations have tabled three specific recommendations to enable them to provide greater input into European and national health policies and research programmes.

    The proposals, unveiled at a conference organised by the European Patients’ Forum in Gothenburg on 9 and 10 December, are directed at the various European Union institutions and at national governments.

    While acknowledging the commitments already made to the rights of patients, the organisations point out that these are largely medical and ethical.
