EU seeks to define its role in global health strategies

The European Union must take account of the views and values of low and medium income countries in any future strategies it might develop on global health, participants agreed at a recent meeting held at the Karolinska Institute in Stockholm.
It must also learn lessons from the adverse effects on health of its existing policies, not least its trade policies, and acknowledge the limited effectiveness of making grand pledges, such as the 2004 Paris declaration on increasing …
