WHO calls for action on growing health crisis of HIV/AIDS in Asia

The World Health Organization (WHO) has called on Asian governments to expand access to preventative sexual health services and to clamp down on discrimination against homosexual men to prevent the HIV/AIDS epidemic taking a “major turn for the worse.”
The WHO said that evidence showed that unprotected male to male sexual intercourse was fuelling the spread of HIV in Asia, where homosexuality remains illegal or is considered a major social taboo in many countries.
