GMC recruits members of the public to help shape consultation papers

    The General Medical Council is to recruit 25 doctors and 25 lay people to help shape its draft papers at an early stage of the consultation process, in a bid to engage better with the profession and the public.

    The council plans to advertise soon for the 50 members of its “reference community,” who will be appointed by open competition and will be paid a fee to contribute their ideas electronically.
