BMJ policy on trials of drugs and devices: advice to authors

We welcome submission of any trial of a drug or device that asks an original research question that will sufficiently aid doctors’ decisions. This is most likely to be a trial that directly compares a new drug or device (or new regimen or indication) with the best current treatment(s) using clinically valid doses or administration of both study and comparator interventions.
