It is difficult to describe Jane Knowles’s professional life independently as it was so strongly entwined with her personal life.

Jane came from an army family, which gave her a strong zest for travelling and entertaining, as well as making her adaptable to changes as a result of the many moves during her childhood. Everyone who attended will remember with pleasure the numerous parties that she held.
