Health minister sentenced for corruption: Former Italian health minister Professor Girolamo Sirchia has been sentenced to a three year prison term for corruption, for several payments he had received from private companies when he was head of unit at the Milan University Hospital (BMJ 2005;330:380 (19 February); doi: 10.1136/bmj.330.7488.380-a).
