In the final sentence of the item headed “Baseline serum albumin concentrations do not affect resuscitation outcomes” we wrongly wrote that “Rates of admission to intensive care and renal replacement therapy, and length of mechanical ventilation and hospital stay did not differ between groups” (BMJ 2006;333, 18 Nov, doi: 10.1136/bmj.333.7577.0-b). In fact, we should have said: “The relative risk of death with albumin or saline was similar, regardless of patients' baseline serum albumin concentration.”
