I am sorry to learn that Webb et al were disappointed to read my piece prompted by the decision of the National Institute for Health and Clinical Excellence (NICE) on bortezomib—and also puzzled. The word “disappointed” would seem to imply that I was critical of the Scottish Medicines Consortium (SMC) and its actions. Far from it.
