Rapid responses are electronic comments to the editor. They enable our users to debate issues raised in articles published on bmj.com. A rapid response is first posted online. If you need the URL (web address) of an individual response, simply click on the response headline and copy the URL from the browser window. A proportion of responses will, after editing, be published online and in the print journal as letters, which are indexed in PubMed. Rapid responses are not indexed in PubMed and they are not journal articles. The BMJ reserves the right to remove responses which are being wilfully misrepresented as published articles.
I worked for Dr. Burges and his beautiful wife,Gillian. I was with
their family when his wife passed away. I was assisting Dr. Burges with
his needs and accompanying him when he went to visit his children. He is
a very wonderful, kind loving person.
It has been a great opportunity and experience to work for such a
wonderful person and nice family. I know that it is his happiness to be
with his wife in heaven.
The last time I saw him is when he sends me off to the train station.
He have given me a card before I left last Oct.2003 to be with my family
in the Philippines. I have kept it and often read it to remember them. I
have read it yesterday then it prompted me to search and see if I can find
something to say, "Hello". I can't help, but cry to learn that he is gone.
I know he is in good hands now.
