A preventable disease: More than 600 medical students from more than 80 countries spent a week in Ohrid, Macedonia. They heard about the impact of violence on health from Alex Butchart of the World Health Organization and other speakers from the Global Campaign to Prevent Violence. The issue was brought alive by a moving performance by Israeli actress Naomi Ackerman. Her one woman show is based on interviews with survivors of domestic violence and relates a common story of this worldwide blight on women's health and wellbeing.
