Arani Chalapathy
General practitioner Leytonstone, London (b Madras, India, 1944; q Madras 1973), died on 27 April 2004 after a short illness.
Arani Chalapathy began his career as a general practitioner in 1977 and, over the last 20 years, has served tirelessly as
a GP from his Hainault Road surgery, where he was popular with patients and colleagues alike.
As well as serving as a GP in the area, Dr Chalapathy represented his colleagues on the local medical committee for many years.
His sincerity and hard working nature won the admiration of his colleagues.
Dr Chalapathy was also a board member of the Waltham Forest Doctors on Call service.
We are all shocked and saddened by Dr Chalapathy’s death. His enormous contribution to the NHS in Waltham Forest will be greatly
missed by his patients and NHS colleagues. We are very much thinking of Dr Chalapathy’s family and friends at this time.
He leaves a wife, and a son and daughter. [Sally Gorham]
