GMC still seen as “doctors' club” despite reforms

    The regulatory body for UK doctors, the General Medical Council, has done much to modernise itself and implement reform, but it is still seen as something of a “doctors' club” and is overly bureaucratic, the results of a small survey show.

    The survey was carried out by independent consultants for the GMC in a bid to find out how the council is currently viewed by doctors, patients, government, and other bodies.
