Allan Fisher moved from Scotland to Israel in 1974 and worked as a senior physician in the division of anaesthesiology and intensive care at Soroka University Medical Centre, where he also headed, on a voluntary basis, the organ donation team. He produced a video film in Hebrew, The Diagnosis of Brain Death, which is currently used at various teaching centres in Israel and by the Israel Centre for Transplants. He enjoyed bicycle riding, fixing old cars, and opera. Pre-deceased by his first wife, Linda, he leaves his second wife, Margaret, and two sons from his first marriage.
