GPs vote for “contractus interruptus”

General practitioners voted to delay a ballot on whether to accept their new contract last week and demanded the renegotiation of key “flaws” that many doctors believe could ruin the profession.
At the special conference convened by the BMA to debate the new contract, announced in February, local medical committee chiefs voted by 139 to 127 for delaying the ballot by up to six months if necessary. However, a rider to the motion gave the General …
