HIV cases have increased in the United Kingdom

The number of newly diagnosed cases of HIV in the United Kingdom has reached an all time high, according to figures published by the Public Health Laboratory Service (PHLS). Figures show that there were 3435 new cases in 2000. This represents a 14% increase over the previous year's figures. The PHLS also said that about 10 000 people in the UK were infected with HIV, but had not been diagnosed. These figures were released a week before the 20th anniversary of the first …
