Atopic dermatitis in children costs £47m each year

    Treating atopic dermatitis in preschool children may be costing as much as £47m ($70.5m) a year in the United Kingdom, according to new research (British Journal of Dermatology 2001;144:514-22). Almost one in seven children now has an episode of atopic dermatitis at some time.
