Your observations about overweight and adenocarcinoma
of the esophagus strike a chord with me. My husband's
weight was 330 pounds when diagnosed with esophageal cancer.
He is also an insulin-dependent diabetic, and often feels
hungry because his body doesn't convert his food into energy
very well. In my increased awareness of acid reflux, GERD,
Barrett's Syndrom, etc. I speak to others whose problems, by
their own admission, relate heavily (pardon the pun) to
overeating. I appreciated finding your letter, and agree
that a campaign to eat less for better health is very
worthwhile if it can save anyone from the heartbreaking
experiences of this very aggressive cancer.
