Milburn to monitor implementation of NICE guidance

The health secretary, Alan Milburn, has announced that explicit monitoring is to be introduced into the NHS to ensure that every health authority and NHS trust in England and Wales is taking “full and proper account” of each appraisal from the National Institute for Clinical Excellence (NICE).
