Doctors now able to diagnose sleep apnoea from ECGs

Irish researchers have developed software that enables doctors to diagnose sleep apnoea from electrocardiograms (ECGs). The process could lead to cheaper diagnosis of the sleep disturbance condition.

The research was carried out at the departments of electrical and electronic engineering, and anatomy and physiology at University College Dublin, under the auspices of the university's life sciences research body, the Conway Institute.
