Tobacco class action settled out of court

An out of court settlement reached between Israel's tobacco monopoly, the Dubek Tobacco Company, and 80 smokers suing it for compensation in a class action suit, has aroused surprise and anger in the government.
The deal, reached after being approved by the majority shareholder of Dubek, Zorah Gehl, was leaked to the press only three days after the justice ministry learned of it.
