As a health journalist of some 10 years who still faces the task of writing with trepidation, I doubt I'd have had the nerve to embark on the career had I read Tim Albert's book first: there's so much to know. Although to date I've had no need to get to grips with “uniform requirements for manuscripts submitted to biomedical journals,” should I ever need to, it's surely Tim I'd turn to.
Naturally the rarefied world of scientific papers and research proposals is rather different …
