UK government urged to screen for BSE in sheep

Fast screening tools are urgently needed for detecting any bovine spongiform encephalopathy (BSE) in sheep, the UK Food Standards Agency has warned. The agency said that current research is too slow and warns that if BSE is found in the 40 million strong national flock, existing controls would have to be revised.
