EDITOR—I grew up by the sea in a Spanish island then studied at university in a big city; in both these places I had seen inequities, particularly in health care. I came to the United Kingdom for my postgraduate training and practised in different hospitals for nearly nine years. I saw a great health service, the envy of other countries, mine among them.
